A research on New Stars near the Sun

This is a description of a research from a hypothesis put forward by Prof. Mario G. Fracastoro, which resulted in a new method to distinguish the differences between Red giant stars and Red dwarf stars.

This method was then verified by parallax angle measurements that were carried out over a period of one year.

The observations led to the conclusion that the method is in fact reliable.

The outcome of the research was both an unexpected and unforeseeable discovery. The parallax measurements, obtained by Observatory 610 at Pianoro (Bologna, Italy) and carried out on a starting sample of stars, do not all correspond to those quoted in the TYCHO and HIPPARCOS Catalogues.
